When superresolution imaging techniques first entered the scene, home-built instruments were the sole option for imaging. Luckily, as the technique gains popularity, optics manufacturers are now producing high-quality microscopes capable of reliably performing superresolution imaging, eliminating the difficult requirement of having an in-house optical engineer in your lab! Both PALM and more general SSMS imaging can make use of the same equipment and software.

For the most efficient and reliable imaging experience, Allele's preferred microscope manufacturer is Zeiss. The Zeiss Elyra PS.1 microscope was used for all superresolution imaging experiments for our newest fluorescent protein, mNeonGreen.
